Last year we launched our 2020 local gift guide and it was such a hit with you all! We love your heart for supporting local and shopping small. So we knew we had to bring it back this year – with a ton of amazing local, small businesses that we love! That past few years have been hard on so many small businesses, so we want to encourage you to shop small. Even if it’s one or two gifts. We will be doing a combination this year of shopping online and also shopping small!
Every little bit helps. We encourage you to consider giving a gift, gift card, or an experience from one of these AMAZING businesses that we are about to share! The list below is also not exclusive. There are so many wonderful business in the area and in Wisconsin and all over the midwest. These are just some of our favorites and ones we have gotten to know personally over the past year. We hope you enjoy this list!
Hope Clothing
Hope Clothing started with the dream to open a boutique that carried unique clothes to help women feel comfortable and confident. They made it their mission to find the best brands and they take so much pride sharing their favorites with all of you. Hope started out of a small dream and has turned into something so much bigger.
In 2019, DaNelle (the co-founder) passed away from Cancer. Hope lives on to help all of us get through tough times together. A portion of every sale is donated to two local Wisconsin Cancer charities. In addition, $1 of every sale goes to Hope’s Beautiful Warrior program giving women battling Cancer a shopping spree in their shop every month!
Hope offers so many great options for the holidays, like this incredibly soft Barefoot dreams blanket dupe for a fraction of the price. I will definitely be snagging one or two of these to gift people! Hope Clothing also carries a full collection of soy candles that would make great gifts as well. There are so many other options on her site as well and by purchasing from Hope, you are supporting a great cause!

ReKindled & Co
Heidi started ReKindled & Co in 2012 and boy has it changed over the years. From a white market tent, to a website, to a Winnebago that traveled the Mid-West to a now more local approach…ReKindled has been just about everywhere! Prior to the pandemic, Heidi and her Winnie were on a fast track – 50+ markets/events a year and a pace not many could keep up. Then 2020 hit and everything stopped. It was the exact opposite of what she knew! In true ReKindled fashion a lesson was to be learned… the sweet spot was somewhere in the middle. Not too fast, but not too slow.
Heidi’s family relocated to Lodi WI. She fell in love with the small town, slower pace and has kept Winnie and here events much more local. Never in a million years did she think she would find herself popped up between a Brat Fry and the American Legion crew in the parking lot of a Piggly Wiggly but here we are! Follow the adventure of Winnie and Heidi online – they are active on both Instagram and Facebook. (insider tip…the unfiltered Heidi shows up on Instagram stories most often).
ReKindled & Co. can be shopped online and if you’re local, you can always select pick up (Lodi) and swing through their hometown! Select from a wide variety of adventure goods from local makers and small businesses. Drink cups, travel journals, apparel, holiday décor, candles and even the most favorite item of the year – the fanciest drink koosies you’ve ever seen! Look for the live Annual Holiday Shopping Event on Sunday December 12th! ReKindled & Co. can also be found at a local Best of Business – Booth 121 in Monona!
Hill Valley Workshop
Kristin Davis, the owner of Hill Valley Workshop was a middle school teacher for the past 23 years. After working the side hustle life for the past 7 years, she took the leap, quit her day job, and is currently pouring her heart and soul into creating full-time! Her work has evolved over time, but one thing has remained constant: she creates one-of-a-kind work, whether it’s a hand-lettered piece, hand-painted Sola wood flowers, or cut wood— you can be sure that there isn’t the exact same artwork on someone else’s walls! She loves to help people find the perfect gift for their loved ones.
She offers custom pet portraits featuring an everlasting flower crown (she has even done horses, donkeys, and cows!), replicas of a wedding bouquet, and personalized signs, and so much more. She will also be at several makers markets in the next few weeks, so you can follow her social accounts on Instagram and Facebook for more info on that. She also have a website, that for now, serves as a gallery of past work. All of her pieces would make great gifts this holiday season!
Little Badger’s Stitchery
Tara, a local Madisonian, is a full-time-working mom of two littles, and a lover of all things crafty. Her husband, long before they considered kids or even marriage, bought her a sewing machine as a long-shot gift, one that seemed a bit off-target in the moment. She knew little to nothing about sewing, and hadn’t sewn anything since middle school home economics. Ten years later, after the arrival of their daughter, she found her love of sewing.
Today, their home is littered with homemade headbands, holiday-themed matching jammies and waaay over-the-top Halloween costumes. The kids were and are her inspiration, and they’re her two little badgers – fitting as they’re proud UW Badger alumni.
Little Badger’s Stitchery currently features matching parent and child aprons because she loves cooking and baking with her kids. She offers fun patterns in child and toddler sizes, matching adult and child sets, and has added some festive patterns for holiday baking. She offers other small items, like quilted coasters, hair ties and headbands, and magnets that are great small gifts and stocking stuffers.

Strider is mindfully-made to evoke your inner earth child, stargazer, tree hugger, and free spirit. Most importantly, their products always have been and always will be sustainability-focused, vegan-forward, cruelty-free, and without phthalates, parabens, or dyes.

She has converted the store to around 70% house made products using only natural/organic ingredients changing it from primarily a retail store to a “makers store” and you will love her products! The other 30% of products she diligently finds to sell in the store must meet strict standards, only allowing in the best quality and uniqueness.

They offer holistic supplements loved by their customers for things like: stress relief, focus support, pain relief, and sleep support. Pure Fin products feature CBDa, which is a more raw, less processed, and natural form of CBD.
Pure Fin began after Tracy (father) faced a serious medical hardship and Ciara (daughter) encouraged him to implement holistic methods of healing. This journey of healing led them to create their very own unique full spectrum hemp product, which is our flagship CBDa + Omega-3 oil. After experiencing their oil’s profound healing effects (which was unlike any traditional CBD product they had ever tried) they knew they needed to get it out into the world. At that moment, Pure Fin was officially born.

Pour Me
Imagine a truck full of perfectly poured old-fashioneds, mimosas or margaritas at your event that is not only a cool experience, but a damn good drink. Pour Me & Co. passionately believes in elevated experiences that stand for quality over quantity. Their team has diligently designed and created a unique experience to bring your next event, party or wedding to a level of paragon.
Here’s how: They restored a vintage ‘57 Chevy Apache and turned it into a mobile bar, but that’s not even the cool part. The star of the show is their self-pouring draft cocktail system. A traditional upscale cocktail is made by a highly-skilled mixologist that perfectly balances a simple drink with the highest consistency and quality ingredients. Their draft cocktail system brings that scientific care and precision into each pour from any person operating the pour handle.
Looking for a mocktail or non-alcoholic option? Great! This year their truck became pretty famous for their Lavender Lemonade and Iced Caramel Lattes. If you can think of it, they can pour it.
