I wanted to get you this Gluten Free Ham and Broccoli Quiche recipe before the holidays! I won’t have time to shoot a video on it, but a blog post and recipe should do the trick. I’ve made this recipe twice in one week now and I’ve given it to multiple people to try. Everyone has given me such great feedback, so I need to share it with you all!
I’ve been gluten free for about 12 years now, and I always love finding new ways to make gluten free alternatives taste good!! This recipe would also of course work with regular flour as well.
I normally make my egg dishes without a crust, but I absolutely love the spin on this and a secret ingredient that makes it so good! I’ve been using a pie crust recipe similar to this for years. It’s so simple (hello, 3 ingredients) and my favorite. It works well for sweet and savory pies! My favorite gluten free flour is the King Arthur gluten free Measure for Measure flour. I’ve seen it at Target and Costco, but I’m sure other stores carry it as well. The crust can also be made dairy free by subbing dairy free butter.
Ham and Broccoli Quiche Secret Ingredient
Ok, let’s talk about the filling and my secret ingredient. You can honestly put anything in this quiche that you like! I made this one with broccoli, ham, and sharp cheddar, but sausage, bacon bits, peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc. would all be good too! And then any cheese you like or have on hand. It’s a great way to use things up in your refrigerator!
Are you ready for it? My “secret” ingredient is cottage cheese!! It’s additional protein for those of you who are trying to get more protein in, but honestly, it’s the texture and flavor that it adds for me! I almost always add cottage cheese to my eggs these days. That may gross you out, but don’t knock it until you try it. I’m serious! And if you try it and don’t like it, you can just leave it out!
