Welcome to the first week of our February Safe Swap Challenge featuring safe swaps for your bathroom (face). When we were deciding how to break up the rooms in the house, we decided that the bathroom needed two weeks.
As women, there are so many products in our bathrooms. About a month ago, I published a post that shared why you should care about making safe swaps. I explained and shared research on the fact that what we put on our skin doesn’t stay there. Our skin isn’t a barrier, it’s a carrier.
The ingredients in the products we are using are absorbed and get into our bodies. Now, when you think about the room in our house where we mainly put things on our skin, it’s the bathroom. So we are breaking it down into two categories: the face and the body. This week, we are tackling the products we put on our faces.
There are safe products that work just as well!
As we age, many of us are starting to use more products to get rid of the wrinkles, cover up the age spots and try to make us look younger. I get it! My forehead wrinkles and the crease between my brows has never been more pronounced. But, there are products that you can use that can help with those things while not causing harm to the body but girl… embrace those wrinkles, they are beautiful.
I’m going to share my favorite safe swaps with you. I have not by any means tried all of the natural beauty products out there. I have tried many of them and I will share them with you, but again, I would trust the resources I mentioned in this post. If you have a product you love and think is safe, look into it (or ask us). It might be a great option!
Ok, let’s jump into my favorite safe swaps for your face. I’m going to share my favorites. They range in price, where you can find them and quality (somewhat). First, I am going to share my favorite beauty brands. I have used all of these and prefer certain products over others, but all of the brands here, are high quality and safe.
My favorite make up & skincare brands
I have personally been using mostly Crunchi products for the past few years after some trial and error with other brands. I love the integrity from ingredients to packaging and cruelty free and they are moving toward 100% vegan. My favorite Crunchi products are in the skincare line, the brow pomade and the lipsticks. I also love the charcoal facial bar and all the moisturizers. I have also used the Qet suites, Beauty Counter and Inika and love them too! You’ll just have to try things for yourself!
Honest Beauty
When we first started this series, we had a lot of people reach out to tell us they wanted things that were affordable and accessible. I have recently started using Honest Beauty products. If we are talking good, better, best, they are probably a “good” or “better” option. I love that you can find them at Target or on Amazon. I am really enjoying them though and wanted to share my favorite Honest brand products with you.

In addition to the Crunchi and Qet products (Beauty Counter has some great ones too) I use to take care of my skin, I really like these affordable options as well! Again, these are a little more affordable. Acure is very easy to find. Carina Organics is a little secret gem of mine. They are from Canada and the shipping takes a little bit, but I love their products and how affordable they are!

Lastly, I wanted to share a few of my other favorites. These Norwex body clothes are my absolute favorite way to remove makeup from my face with just warm water. I love using these Konjac sponges as a gentle exfoliant and finally, witch hazel is amazing for inflammation and can help acne.
Ok, I’m going to wrap it up here! There are so many products out there, ladies. I cannot possibly share all of the good ones with you, but these are some of my tried and true favorites. They are great alternatives to start making some safe swaps for your health!
