This is a combination of my mom's lasagna and Logan's mom's lasagna to make the most epic lasagna ever! It is the definition of comfort food at it's finest!
1 jar28ozspaghetti sauceoption: sub the sauce with 1 (15oz) can tomato sauce and 1 (28oz) petite diced tomatoes (drained)
3/4tspgarlic powder
3/4tspsalt
3/4tsporegano
1/4tspdried basil
1/4tspblack pepper
3tspchili powder
1packageoven ready lasagna noodles
122 ozcontainer of cottage cheese
1-2cupsmozzarella cheeseshredded
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°
Chop the onion and green pepper and fry it with the ground beef until the beef is cooked through and browned. Drain the grease off at this point if you are using a higher fat beef.
Add the large jar of pasta sauce (or the tomato sauce + diced tomatoes) and all of the spices. Let simmer for about 20-30 minutes.
Spray a 9x13" pan oil
Start to layer your lasagna as follows:
Meat sauce
Oven ready lasagna noodles
Cottage cheese
Mozzarella cheese
Meat sauce
Oven ready lasagna noodles
Cottage cheese
Mozzarella cheese
Oven ready lasagna noodles

Mozzarella
You really can't mess this up - just make sure you end with meat sauce and mozzarella cheese on the top. Feel free to sprinkle a little parmesan cheese on the very top if you want. (sometimes I do this.) Be sparing with the layers, so you can make all of them!
Bake for 40 minutes
Remove from the oven and let sit for 20 minutes before cutting into it to eat!
